Warmworks has been recognised as the first business in Scotland to put all its employees through the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) accredited Climate Solutions Accelerator climate solutions training course. The course has been created by the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS), the University of Strathclyde, training provider QA and digital experts, Jump Digital.

We recognise that our people play a crucial role in our journey towards net zero. Every small step, from adopting and driving electric fleet vehicles to engaging in energy-saving practices at work, helps to achieve the larger net zero goal.  We have invested in training all our employees to not only provide them with an understanding of climate change, but to encourage them to think about solutions to the climate emergency, particularly ones that they can apply in both a professional and personal context.

A total of 175 of our employees have completed the Climate Solutions Accelerator training course receiving their SQA qualification, with plans in place for all new employees joining the business to also complete it.   We are also working with our sub-contracted installers to put their people through the training to ensure the benefits extend well beyond Warmworks.

Alongside this achievement we have also been awarded a Climate Solutions Corporate Completion Certification from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.  This recognises our senior management’s commitment to climate education as over 90% of our employees have completed one of the Climate Solutions courses; and we have an ongoing commitment to make sure new employees receive the training.

Dr Mike Robinson OBE RSGS said:

“Everyone has a part to play in tackling the climate crisis and it is great to see organisations like Warmworks taking decisive action to embed climate action within their own business and empowering their supply chain to do the same.

“We are delighted to support Warmworks on their net zero journey as part of our Climate Solutions Programme and to welcome them to a network over 100,000 people globally who are similarly committed to implementing the solutions we all need.”

David Hannah, Head of Delivery Apprenticeships Scotland from QA said:

“QA is delighted to announce its pivotal role in supporting Warmworks on its commendable journey towards net zero. Our collaboration meant we provided expert online delivery coaching to Warmworks’ staff as they completed their SQA Climate Solutions Accelerator course. This initiative stands as a proud testament to fostering sustainable practices and driving climate action. The collective effort demonstrated by all organisations involved underscores a shared dedication to meeting the climate challenge head-on and supporting net zero journeys.”

Derek Houston Regional Manager, Glasgow from SQA said:

“The SQA is delighted that Jump Digital chose us to be the third-party credit rating body for this really innovative training course. The popularity of which can be seen by the number of candidates successfully completing it already.”
