Ross is Chief Executive of Warmworks, with end-to-end responsibility for the Warmworks business. Since joining Warmworks as its first employee in April 2015, Ross has led the mobilisation and start-up of the business through to its current position as an established and successful organisation that is continually building on its reputation as a customer-focused, values-driven team.
Ross has worked in the energy efficiency arena since 2004 and has undertaken various executive leadership roles. He has a diverse range of experience gained from working with both local and central Government, as well as private sector organisations, in tackling fuel poverty and working towards a fair, equitable and just transition to a net zero society. Ross graduated from Durham University in 2003 with an MA in Modern History.
Nicola is Managing Director of our Scotland Division, with responsibility for overseeing our Scottish Government contracts, including Warmer Homes Scotland and the Energy-Efficient Scotland: Area-Based Scheme in Orkney.
Over the last seven years, Nicola has played a pivotal role in delivering our scheme, creating a service that is fit for national purpose, and providing a first-class customer service and assurance of consistent high-quality work across Scotland.
Nicola has a proven record in managing teams and working with partners to support the delivery of the Scottish Government’s aims in tackling fuel poverty. She also has extensive experience working alongside civil servants on several government employability initiatives.
In her spare time, Nicola is passionate about giving back to the community and is personally involved in numerous charities, including the Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and the Edinburgh Cat & Dog home.
Jill is our Finance Director, overseeing business operations including finance, commercial, IT, and reporting and management information.
She joined the company in August 2016 with nearly 20 years’ experience of managing the financial aspects of various small and medium sized enterprises.
Jill graduated from Heriot-Watt University in 1997 with a Masters degree in Accounting and Finance and qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland in 2000. Jill’s experience spans both industry and private practice with an emphasis on financial reporting, audit, compliance and corporate governance.
In her spare time, Jill enjoys skiing, swimming, and spending time with her family.
Before joining Warmworks in 2017, Simon enjoyed a varied career with companies such as P&G, Siemens, Eaga and Carillion and has experience of working with blue chip clients and public sector organisations. He has more than 15 years’ experience of the built environment and energy efficiency sectors, including time spent in the defence sector and leading the facilities management operation at the British Museum in London.
Originally from Argyll, Simon is a graduate of Strathclyde University and is a husband, father, surfer, banjo player and an award-winning marmalade maker. He has a passion for the social justice and fuel poverty agenda and is actively involved as a volunteer in several community organisations. Most recent roles include coaching a boys’ rugby team, coaching a girls’ football team, and District Commissioner for the Scouts.
Paul manages a range of projects across the UK in his role as Managing Director of our Local Delivery Division. He joined us in 2019 and has been instrumental in developing these projects into a thriving part of our business.
Paul has over 20 years’ experience in the energy industry, building on extensive knowledge of supply chain management and operational delivery. Testament to the actions of Paul’s team is a growing portfolio of customers with whom we continue to deliver new, innovative work.
Paul is an avid sports fan. He plays, coaches and watches as much as he can, combining his interest in cricket with management of the charitable fund raising activities for his local grassroots club.
Laura is Contract Delivery Manager for Warmworks, with responsibility for leading the continuous improvement and development of our delivery of the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme.
Before joining our team in 2020, Laura was Head of Operations for Energy Advice and Advocacy at the Wise Group. Laura has over 10 years’ experience in operational management and leadership roles, delivering local and large-scale energy efficiency and fuel poverty projects.
Laura has a BA Hons in Business Studies and is a qualified PRINCE2 project management practitioner. She is passionate about tackling poverty and inequality and volunteers as a mentor for care experienced young people through the charity MCR Pathways.
In her spare time, she’s normally found taking her children to their clubs and social activities, or spending time with her labrador, Rex.
Marc is our Commercial and Compliance Director. He joined us in 2015, bringing years of operations, technology, supplier management, and contract delivery expertise. Marc manages all of our commercial and compliance activities, including procurement, contracting, health and safety and maintaining external accreditations.
The commercial and compliance teams Marc leads are experts in their fields. He thrives on giving them the support they need to ensure our clients and stakeholders are consistently satisfied with the work the teams produce.
Marc has a background in engineering and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, and World Commerce and Contracting.
Outside work, Marc can be seen coaching the next generation of Scottish rugby talent at his local club.
Kate is our HR and Engagement Director and has been with the company since August 2015. Kate has more than 20 years’ experience providing HR leadership in a variety of publicly funded organisations, including social housing, criminal justice and women’s aid, working to make a difference to people and communities across the country.
Kate has a post-graduate diploma in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Kate volunteers on the board of a housing association and a counselling charity.
Kate is proud to have worked with our whole team to establish a positive working environment and a thriving culture where everyone can be supported to reach their full potential. Leading a growing team of professionals in HR, communications and community engagement, Kate continues to support managers across our business to make the most of our capabilities and demonstrate our shared values.
