Renewable Heat Project with Waverley Housing

Customer: Mrs H

Mrs H, a tenant of Waverley Housing, was selected to have a package of energy-saving improvements installed in her home, including an air source heat pump, battery storage technology and a solar PV system. Mrs H was fed up living with her current heating system that was costing her a lot of money.

I previously had electric storage heaters that were changed to electric radiators, but I didn’t use these as they were too expensive.

The first step in the process was for Warmworks to carry out a survey of Mrs H’s home to confirm it was suitable to receive these energy-saving improvements.

“This went really smoothly and the surveyor was very helpful.”

The surveyor confirmed that Mrs H’s home was suitable to receive the energy-saving improvements and she was delighted that she was able to take part in the project. Warmworks then appointed BRB Electrical Ltd (BRB) as the sub-contractor who would carry out the work. The team from BRB got in touch with Mrs H to arrange a technical survey to discuss the installation in greater detail. Once the technical survey was completed, Warmworks advised Mrs H to contact her electricity supplier to ensure she was on the best energy tariff to suit the energy-saving improvements that were about to be installed. Soon after, the installation was scheduled.

Mrs H said this about the process of having the energy saving improvements installed:

“The installation went really well, there were a few hiccups but these were addressed very quickly. The team from BRB were very professional, prompt, very clean and tidy. They swept and hoovered the floors after the installation and left no mess.”

Once the installation was completed, a Warmworks inspector visited Mrs H’s home to confirm everything was installed correctly and to the highest standards. When asked about the impact of the energy-saving improvements that were installed, Mrs H said:

I have seen a huge difference already – I was spending just over £240 per month, and I am now spending just over £20 per month.

When asked what her advice would be to tenants who have been offered assistance under this project, Mrs H said:

“I would tell them to take it straight away!”
