The Home Upgrade Grant Phase 2 (HUG2) is a UK Government-funded scheme that provides funding to local authorities to make energy efficiency improvements in people’s homes. It aims to help households manage fuel bills, make homes warmer and more comfortable, lower carbon emissions, and create green jobs.
Warmworks is the Managing Agent of the HUG2 scheme, working on behalf of the Greater South East Net Zero Hub to support local authorities across the region. This builds on the work we have previously carried out on behalf of the Hub under the Sustainable Warmth scheme.
Our job under HUG2 is to work closely with the Greater South East Net Zero Hub and individual local authorities to identify people who might qualify for the scheme and then provide an end to end service from the point of referral through to installation and inspection. Find out more about us here.
Following an assessment of your home, carried out by one of our highly qualified Retrofit Assessors, in-depth analysis will take place to determine a suitable package of energy efficiency improvements for your home.
These energy efficiency improvements can include:
Please note: Replacement/repair of fossil fuel heating systems such as gas/oil/LPG boilers are not available through this scheme.
Owner occupiers and private rented properties are eligible for the scheme. For people who live in a rented property, the landlord will need to give us permission to install energy efficiency improvements.
Householders also need to meet certain eligibility criteria to qualify for funding:
o Child Tax Credits (CTC)
o Housing benefit
o Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
o Income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
o Income Support (IS)
o Pension Credit Guarantee Credit (PCGC)
o Pension Credit Savings Credit (PCSC)
o Universal Credit (UC)
o Working Tax Credit (WTC)
If you do not meet the eligibility criteria above but struggle to heat your home and pay your fuel bills, get in touch with your local authority to discuss available options. If you are in any doubt about your eligibility for funding, you can contact us and our friendly team will be more than happy to help.
