Warmworks recognised for climate leadership at Scottish Impact Awards

Warmworks has been named Climate Action Champion at the Scottish Impact Awards 2026.

The organisation received the award at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel on 1 October, with judges praising its “outstanding commitment to climate action, combining measurable emissions reductions with ambitious long-term targets”.

Judges were particularly impressed by Warmworks’ ability to embed sustainability throughout its operations while “demonstrating clear, practical impact and leadership that others can learn from”.

Organised by Scottish newspaper The Herald, the Scottish Impact Awards celebrate organisations that are demonstrating excellence in the drive to a fairer and more sustainable Scotland.

Since 2019, Warmworks has cut its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 41% and reduced its carbon intensity by 86%, while growing revenue by 420% and increasing its workforce by 258%.

Significant investments in decarbonisation include transforming its Edinburgh office into a fully net zero space, a 90%+ electric vehicle fleet that saves more than 32 tonnes of carbon emissions each year, and initiatives that ensure 99% of office waste is diverted from landfill. The organisation has also supported more than 40 supply chain partners on their own net zero journeys.

Ian Cuthbert, Warmworks’ Head of Workplace Sustainability, said:

“We are incredibly proud to receive this Climate Action Champion Award. While it is a fantastic honour for our business, it also reflects the collective effort of colleagues across the organisation who have helped drive our net zero and wider sustainability journey. Over the last four years, we have delivered significant carbon reductions through a wide range of initiatives, embedding climate action into everything we do.

“We also hope our experience inspires other organisations, including our suppliers and partners, to take action and see that decarbonisation is not only possible but beneficial for businesses and communities alike.

“Finally, we would like to congratulate all the other finalists and nominees in this category. The quality of work being delivered is truly inspiring, and we are proud to be recognised alongside organisations making such a positive contribution to tackling climate change.”
